ProFlowers Deluxe Lavender Fields Bouquet

ProFlowers Deluxe Lavender Fields Bouquet

The late afternoon sun, a bruised plum color, bled across the lavender fields of Provence. I remember the exact smell, the heavy, almost intoxicating perfume of the blooms. That memory, sharp as a just-pruned secateur, is the benchmark for any lavender-themed floral arrangement that crosses my desk.

This “Deluxe Lavender Fields Bouquet” from ProFlowers, offered through Amazon, promised a slice of that paradise. I’m always skeptical. Mass-market flowers, by their nature, endure a grueling journey. Still, I approached this with a florist’s detached curiosity. The initial assessment is crucial: bloom stage, stem health, and, of course, the fragrance.

The bouquet arrived promptly, a welcome deviation from the supply chain woes that have plagued the industry. Packing was adequate, protecting the delicate blooms from significant damage. The vase, unfortunately, was absent. (Note: Always check the entire order upon arrival!)

Upon unpacking, the scent was promising, though not quite the full-bodied experience of freshly harvested lavender. The inclusion of some greenery and, I believe, some statice, helped build the bouquet’s volume and give it a pleasant, if somewhat less “all lavender” feel. A smart design choice, really. Purple and green play well together, visually, and allows for an extension of the bouquet’s life since statice is an incredibly durable flower.

The lavender itself appeared to be from a recent harvest, still holding a decent amount of color, a critical factor in their visual appeal. The stems, though a bit thin, were largely free of the inevitable signs of bruising. The ProFlowers team clearly prioritizes proper hydration, and this, in itself, is a testament to their practices.

Compared to a similar, locally sourced lavender arrangement I recently worked with (and frankly, felt ripped off for the price), this ProFlowers bouquet offers a fantastic value. You’re getting a pre-designed, ready-to-display arrangement, which is a considerable time saver. Plus, you’re spared the inevitable snippy comment from a local purveyor who assumes you know more than you do.

My main criticism? The lavender density could be higher. While a well-balanced bouquet, it erred slightly on the side of filler. A few more sprigs would have brought it closer to the full, immersive experience I crave. Easy fix though: I’d suggest adding a bundle of dried lavender sprigs to the vase alongside the delivered bouquet. You can easily find these at most craft stores, or even online. It would boost the scent and give it that final push towards perfection.

Who is this bouquet for? Busy professionals, those in need of a quick and aesthetically pleasing gift, or anyone who simply loves the calming presence of lavender and doesn’t have the time to go rogue in their own garden. This is a solid, easy choice that will brighten your home or someone else’s.
